Morlaix, parish close, Quimper
Morlaix
Visit of two parish close, the first at St-Thégonnec (see the Wikipedia (F) a somewhat more detailed explanation), very interesting, the voluntary guide (from SPREV, a Christian association providing guided tours) was very useful to understand what we did see. Not in Wikipedia (EN), the close was to keep animals out and had to be stepped over (about 60cm high) and maybe also a way to force respect. The second was at Guimiliau, with the pulpit and the baptistery.
Some explanations from the web. The stone shows two pair of breasts (just titsies). I am not sure what the palettes are.
The old town of Quimper and its Cathedral, the construction of the Gothic Cathedral started 1240. Later extensions replaced the roman Cathedral built 1128 sqq.
