April 26 , Grau du Roi to  Grau du Roi

Windy, first Tramontana then Mistral, sunny

4 km boat, 12 km driving and 6 km walking and Tram

We took the small tourist train from Grau du Roi to Port-Camargue and back. Many powerful memories about 2 races (Port-Camargue sailing race Triangle du Soleil and Grau du Roi sailing race Mini-Med).

We then drove to Aigues-Mortes and took a boat for a tour on the canals from and to Aigues-Mortes (with Mistral) and we were shown a Manade (bull breeding). Despite being constructed for tourists, I found it quite interesting.

Visit of the narrow and cobbled streets of Aigue-Morte. The Tour de Constance is already closed for the evening. We ate very well La Pignata di Pinocchio.

Drive back to Grau-Du-Roi.

Aigues-Mortes and la Tour Constance, la Grande-Motte at the horizon, le Grau du Roi, a bridge painted by someone famous (and the boat as well), Port Camargue, one of the largest in Europe.

April 27 , from Grau du Roi to  Tarascon

Sunny, Mistral not as strong, not that warm.

62 km, 1.5 km walking (or more)

In the morning, we visit la Tour de Constance in Aigues-Mortes then drive to Arles. We visit first the Musée Antique, fascinating, a must see.

We drove then through the city and its many obstacles (particularly a market sending us in the very narrow side streets) We manage to park near the Amphitheater, which we visit then on to the Arènes. We had a peek at the Musée Réattu and the baths of Constantine (with a guide, which made the visit so much more worthwhile.

Then drive to Tarascon and the very friendly Hôtel du Viaduc and then walked to the restaurant Tailles de Bon , one of the best and interesting of our trip.

Aigue-Morte and the Tour Constance : light house, shaft present on all floors, chimney and the gate.
